Join the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum for a half-day workshop exploring the history of the Jews of West and Sub-Saharan Africa and the importance of African perspectives to Holocaust history. The program will highlight African scholars’ emerging interest in Nazi and Vichy race laws, forced labor, and internment in the region. Scholars from Africa, Europe, Israel, and North America will present African research and collections on the cultural, spiritual, and social history of West African Jews.
