Details | Join Manhattan College's Holocaust, Genocide and Interfaith Education Center for a discussion on white nationalism, antisemitism, and racism. Claudia Setzer, PhD, is a professor of relgious studies at Manhattan College. Her books include The Bible in the American Experience, with David Shefferman (Society of Biblical Literature, 2020); The Bible and American Culture: A Sourcebook, with David Shefferman (Routledge, 2011); Resurrection of the Body in Early Judaism and Early Christianity (Brill, 2004); and Jewish Responses to Early Christians (Augsburg Fortress, 1994). She studies early Jewish-Christian relations, the development of belief in resurrection, women in the Greco-Roman era, 19th century women interpreters of Scripture, and the Bible in American culture. She is currently writing a book on the use of the Bible in progressive movements (abolitionism, women's suffrage, civil rights, environmentalism and anti-trafficking). She earned her doctorate at Columbia University. Eric Ward is the executive director of Western States Center and a nationally recognized expert on the relationship between authoritarian movements, hate violence, and preserving inclusive democracy. In his 30+ year civil rights career, he has worked with community groups, government and business leaders, human rights advocates and philanthropy as an organizer, director, program officer, consultant and board member.
