| Details | Against all odds, the very first civilian uprising against the Germans during WWII began 81 years ago on April 19, 1943, in the Warsaw ghetto. Outnumbered and starving, two Jewish groups--led mainly by youth--chose to fight rather than be sent to their deaths.
