Details | Join DHHRM on select Fridays this summer to hear the testimonies of Holocaust survivors, refugees, and hidden children, as well as second generation survivors. About the Speaker Bert Romberg was born in Astheim, Germany in 1930. When Bert was eight years old, his mother made arrangements for the family to escape to England by obtaining a visa for herself and securing spots for Bert and his sister Magie on the Kindertransport, a rescue mission that allowed thousands of Jewish children to live with private English citizens.
