At this free online event, learn how historians work as investigators to examine evidence and reconstruct the stories of people murdered by the Nazis. Explore how letters, documents, photographs, and other artifacts preserve personal experiences for generations to come.

Gain instructional strategies for analyzing primary sources using the Museum’s classroom-ready resources. Panelists will model approaches that place evidence into historical context, guiding students to think critically about how and why the Holocaust happened and its impact on individuals.

At this virtual event, panelists will

• Provide historical context and approaches for analyzing personal letters written during the Holocaust.
• Model instructional strategies, including primary source and text analysis, to build historical thinking skills and enhance student literacy.
• Share classroom-ready resources designed to strengthen student knowledge across various disciplines and grade levels.

Free Resources

The program will examine classroom-ready resources, including primary sources from the Museum’s collection and short animated videos. A free book that complements the program will be mailed directly to participants (available for current educators with a US mailing address) after the event.
