Description:
In 2017, some of America's most notorious neo-Nazis and white supremacists meticulously planned and carried out a violent, racist, and anitsemitic attack on Charlottesville - resulting in dozens of injuries and the death of Heather Heyer. Integrity First for America (IFA), along with a world-class legal team, took the organizers of the attack to court and won - securing multi-million dollar damages and holding these extremists accountable for the violent they orchestrated.
Join IFA Executive Director and fellow 3G, Amy Spitalinick, for a conversation on this landmark court case and the broader fight against violent white supremacy.
Amy Spitalnick is Executive Director at Integrity First for America, and is the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors. Amy has extensive experience in government, politics, and advocacy, including as Communications Director and Senior Policy Advisor to the New York Attorney General and Communications Advisor and Spokesperson for the New York City Mayor. Amy has been named a Women in Power Fellow at the 92nd Street Y, a Truman National Security Project Fellow, a City & State 40 Under 40 Rising Star, and a NY Jewish Week 36 Under 36 Changemaker.
Perhaps most notably, Amy and the team behind this case were recently dubbed “21st Century Nazi hunters” by the Forward.

Echoes & Reflections is excited to present Catholic school educators with training and resources to help their students understand the history of antisemitism, the Holocaust, and modern manifestations of prejudice, made possible by the generous support of Eileen Ludwig Greenland.
One of the central revolutions in Catholic education in the last forty years has been in its depiction of Jews, Judaism, and the Holocaust. This is due to the release of two essential Vatican documents separated in time by over thirty years. Join Echoes & Reflections Program Manager Jesse Tannetta, former Catholic school educator and scholar of the Holocaust and Catholic theology, to discuss the history of antisemitism, best practices for teaching about the Holocaust, and some of the complex moral questions underpinning successful teaching of the Holocaust in a Catholic school.

Description:
The Israeli National Holocaust Memorial Yad Vashem in Jerusalem
grants the title of “Righteous Among the Nations” to the relatively few
non-Jews who risked their lives to help persecuted Jews survive the
Holocaust. Join Mrs. Wenker, who is currently curating a new permanent
exhibit on the Holocaust at the museum in Santiago, as she tries to
show, among other aspects, the socioeconomic diversity of the almost
28,000 recognized rescuers and the multiple ways they helped the Jews.
Trying to answer the question of whether the rescuers were “ordinary”
people, the lecture briefly examines a few studies that aim at
understanding the Righteous’ psychological profiles, which could shed
light on the origins of the courageous and determined behavior of these
people, necessary to carry out the extraordinary rescue actions.
This lecture is being presented virtually free of charge, but registration is requested.
