Starts Aug 4, 2021 at 11:00am Ends Aug 4, 2021 at 12:00pm Moissey Kogan (1879-1943) was an innovative, influential sculptor-craftsman and printmaker, whose career straddled the European avant-gardes of the first half of the 20th century. A cosmopolitan Russian Jew, whose work was marked by his interest in Jewish mysticism and theosophical beliefs, Kogan looked to non-European cultures and ancient sources, in common with many of his ontemporaries in Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Paris, to root his avant-garde experimentations and revivals of ancient techniques, in what were considered more authentic means of expression. Senate Bill 1828 charges the Texas Holocaust, Genocide, and Antisemitism Advisory Committee with developing or approving materials for a statewide Holocaust Remembrance Week. Provided is a list of approved resources.
The THGAAC sends out a quarterly newsletter in order to provide information on past and upcoming events. E-mail blasts with contest deadlines or when grant applications are available are also sent periodically.
