As life grew more dangerous for Jews living in their town of Agrinio\, Ninetta and her family sought refuge in a remote mountain village controlled by the Greek resistance. To evade Nazi German patrols in the village\, they often retreated further up the mountain\, hiding in caves and in the forest.
