DESCRIPTION:Schmuel Lewent survived the Lodz Ghetto only to be transported to the infamous Auschwitz death camp with his wife and 2-month-old baby child.  The child didn’t survive the trip and at selection\, his wife was sent to the gas chamber. Schmuel was condemned to slave labor at Auschwitz where he toiled for over three years.
